You shouldn’t let a random person into your house…

So here's what you need to know about your new go-to Charlotte & Lake Norman Interior Designer

And if we're going to be working together, I'm a firm believer in feeling comfortable and open with your interior designer. After all, they're going to be helping you make over one of the most personal parts of your life-your home!

That said, here's how I even started interior design in the first place...

Hey, I’m Virginia!

I get along great with homeowners, but landlords haven't always loved me…

Growing up, I would change my room all the time. My parents even let me paint my walls bright red while in high school, which our landlord was thrilled about. (That was *sarcasm*).

In college, I'd have my dorm room completely planned out over the summer and ready to set up the day I moved in. My major was a bit unexpected though...

Yes, I really do have degrees in psychology and criminal justice

And yes, they're very relevant to my design work

Though I left the psych field after a semester of a doctoral program, I never stopped being fascinated with how our minds work.

Since I've loved design for pretty much my whole life, I knew there must be a way to combine both my passions into one creative
outlet that would help people feel seen and understood
within the spaces they live in.

You shouldn't have to choose between beauty and function in your own home.

It's not just my job, it's my passion, to help you create a space you love to live in.

Yes, you deserve to have that "favorite place in the world" feeling within your own home.

Since we’re still getting to know each other…

I'm a first generation American, only child, and both my parents are immigrants from Uruguay. I'm fluent in Spanish.

My husband, Keith, and I have been together for almost 10 years. He was in the Army National Guard when we met.

We share our home with 2 cats (Biscuit & Coraline), a golden retriever (Penny), and Larri the ball python (the snake came with the husband).

I grew up in North Jersey, we lived in Boston for some time, and now we've happily made our home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I'm a Pure Barre enthusiast (maybe it's a cult? Idk), but also enjoy movies and reading.

I'm a big foodie, but hate cooking (thanks for feeding us Keith!).

Favorite beverage: Paloma or a New England IPA

Coffee order: Not a coffee drinker! It's hot chocolate for me.

One of the best things she did for us was to maximize the small space we have to fit all of our books and equipment for work. Mind blowing!

Virginia completely revamped my dismal home office and turned it into this beautiful, chic, and fresh workspace! I share the workspace with my partner, so I was wondering how she would be able to design something that would appeal to both of our styles, but she did it! Thank you, Virginia, for working wonders on our office!"
